The slant of this report from The Telegraph seemed to highlight "restriction of scientific research" then the positive fact that the Chinese authorities are enacting new legislation to stop black market trade in fossils. I can imagine the same headlines lambasting the Chinese if there were insufficient legal protections...
The report also covered private collectors buying fossils of dubious origins. yet not a critical word about these collections, who are mostly rich Americans or Europeans...
